There are several ways in which an agency submits you to clients.
Sometimes the client goes to the website and requests certain people who look right for a particular campaign. Other times clients will ask for a package listing specific features such as men and women who are 5 7” –5’9 all ethnicities with athletic bodies.
Another might be a request for real looking people not models with great smiles no height requirement. The agent will pull the cards, which are usually kept out so everyone can see who they are working with and put them in an envelope addressed to the client. Depending on the urgency they might be messingered over so the client will have them with in the hour or sent regular mail if it is not urgent.
Live castings are another way in which clients can view talent. They will call or e mail the agency listing the specifics they are looking for and ask that the agency send people to a casting location on a certain day and a specific time or between certain hours. For example on Thursday the 8th of December we are seeing women 25-35 with great skin, girl next door look slightly flirtatious for a new skin cream they will include important information such as the job shoots on Jan 12th pays 8,000.00 for one year usage and a 4,000.00 buy out. Then the agent chooses very carefully who to send so that the client knows they will get what they ask for and will continue to give repeat business to that agency. If an agent continuously sends a client people that do not fit, the client will stop doing business with that agency.
Sometimes a client will want more than the person or just a card they want the portfolio sent over so they can see many pictures of that model. The agency will them messenger over the models portfolios. Typically the agency keeps a book (portfolio) on hand and so does the model. A good agency will either be SAG franchised which is
